From MBA Student to Valuation Analyst at Knowcraft Analytics: B. Amarjith’s Journey

Sometimes, the subject you least expect ends up shaping your career, For Amarjith, that subject was Financial Valuation during his MBA in Gurgaon.

Originally from Palakkad, Kerala, Amarjith completed his undergraduate education before moving to Gurgaon for his MBA. Like many management students, he explored different domains until valuation began to stand out.

What started as a classroom subject soon turned into a serious career interest. He realized valuation was not just about numbers but about understanding businesses and their real worth.

That curiosity led him to pursue practical training at QuintEdge. With consistent effort and hands-on model building, Amarjith moved from classroom theory to a professional role as an Analyst – Valuation at Knowcraft Analytics.

Here’s how his journey unfolded:

How did you develop an interest in Business Valuation?

I am from Palakkad, Kerala. After completing my under graduation, I moved to Gurgaon for my MBA.

During the course, I had Financial Valuation as one of the subjects. While studying it, I developed a personal interest in understanding how companies are valued and how financial decisions are taken.

Initially it was just another subject, but gradually I realized I was enjoying it more than other areas. That’s when I decided I want to pursue a career in business valuation.

What steps did you take to enter this field?

After identifying my interest, I understood that theoretical knowledge from college would not be enough.

So I decided to enroll in a course to upskill myself and gain practical exposure. While researching different options, I came across QuintEdge, and their focus on hands-on learning really stood out to me.

My main focus was to develop practical knowledge and learn how to build valuation models properly. I wanted to be confident in applying concepts, not just knowing them and that practical training eventually helped me secure my role.

What made you choose the Financial Modeling and Valuation course at Quintedge?

While exploring different options to upskill, I came across QuintEdge. What stood out to me was their focus on hands-on learning and the opportunity to actually build valuation models ourselves.

I liked the fact that the program focused on understanding how each part of a valuation model works step by step, rather than just learning the concepts theoretically.

For me, it wasn’t only about studying valuation, but about practicing it and becoming confident in applying the concepts. That practical approach is what made me choose the program.

What challenges did you face during your preparation?

The biggest challenge for me was building confidence in practical execution.

Understanding theory is different, but when you sit and try to build a model by yourself, it feels challenging in the beginning.

I wanted to make sure I was not just following steps but actually understanding what I was doing. With regular practice and guidance, I slowly gained confidence.

How did QuintEdge support you in your journey?

All the sessions were focused on building models step-by-step, which helped me understand things more clearly.

Yash Sir explained concepts in a very simple and structured way, which made it easier for me to follow the logic behind each step. Sudhanshu Sir also guided us patiently and cleared doubts whenever needed, which helped me strengthen my fundamentals.

Overall, this support made me feel more confident and prepared for real industry work.

What outcome did you achieve?

After completing my preparation, I got placed at Knowcraft Analytics as an Analyst – Valuation.

It feels good to work in the same field that I once studied as a subject during PGDM. Now I am able to apply those concepts practically in my role.

What was your Preparation Strategy ?

Honestly, my preparation strategy was quite simple, stay consistent and keep practicing.

I made it a point to:

  • Practice valuation models multiple times
  • Revise concepts regularly instead of leaving everything for the end
  • Understand the logic behind each step rather than just following formulas
  • Repeat topics until I felt genuinely confident

I didn’t try to rush through the syllabus. I focused on improving little by little. Over time, that steady approach made a noticeable difference in both my understanding and confidence.

What Would You Tell Students Beginning in Valuation or Core Finance?

If you’re starting out in valuation or finance, just stay consistent and believe in yourself. Keep practicing regularly, things may feel difficult at first, but with time and effort, clarity and results will follow.

At QuintEdge, we remain committed to helping students transform academic curiosity into industry-ready capability, one valuation model at a time.
