Bhumika was born in a family where education was revered, and hard work was the norm. Her parents, both educators, instilled in me the importance of dedication and the pursuit of knowledge.

She did BBA at a local college in Delhi, her birth-place itself, where she realized about the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world skills required in the field of investment banking, her dream career.

This realization led her to seek a specialized program at Quintedge which provided her with the necessary practical skills and placement support due to which she finally got a Job in Acuity Knowledge Partners as an Investment Banker.

Let’s deep dive into her background story and preparation strategy which helped her get a Job in investment Banking. Given below are the excerpts from our interview with Bhumika:

How Did you develop an Interest in Investment Banking?

“My fascination with Investment Banking began during my undergraduate studies. It started with a guest lecture by a renowned investment banker at our college. His insights into the high-stakes, fast-paced world of finance captivated me. He spoke about how investment banking is pivotal in shaping businesses and, in a broader sense, economies. This was a turning point for me. The blend of strategic thinking, financial acumen, and the impactful nature of the work in investment banking resonated deeply with my aspirations.

As I delved deeper into this field, I realized that investment banking was more than just managing portfolios and transactions. It was about being at the nexus of innovation, strategy, and finance. Whether it was facilitating mergers and acquisitions, underwriting new stock offerings, or structuring complex financial products, each aspect of investment banking seemed like a vital cog in the economic wheel.

My interest grew into a passion as I started following market trends, understanding the nuances of financial instruments, and the role of investment bankers in pivotal financial events worldwide. I was intrigued by how investment bankers navigated through the 2008 financial crisis, how they played a key role in tech industry IPOs, and how they shaped major corporate mergers and acquisitions.

This led me to actively seek out additional knowledge and experiences related to the field. I participated in finance-related seminars, joined an investment club at college, and took online courses on financial modeling and market analysis. The more I learned, the more I realized that investment banking was not just a career choice for me; it was a calling. It combined my love for finance with my desire to play a role in the larger economic landscape, driving growth, and innovation.”
